A while ago, I discovered my love for Italian genre films from the 1970s and ever since then I've also been curious how the cinematic landscape has evolved over the years and what kind of output can be expected from Italy these days.
An incredibly strong, captivating, disenchanting and overwhelming Italian film that amazes with an incredibly rich and assured cinematography combined with beautiful music and a tragically bittersweet story that will stay with you for quite a while after the film is finished. If you adored Guillermo Del Toro's Pan's Labyrinth and somehow want to go through a similar emotional experience again, Sicilian Ghost Story is definitely the right film for you.
Yet another superbly cast and acted coming-of-age film, which is slowly but surely getting to be the common theme of a lot of this year's Fantasy Filmfest selections.
