Blaine McGaffigan’s review published on Letterboxd :
An incredible journey of a young dumb couple with a trigger happy leading man. Martin Sheen is full of charisma and can charm the pants off anyone in this film. Sissy Spacek is a meek girl who is along for the ride, yet understands her own disenchantment.
The voiceover is a hallmark of a Terrence Malick film, and is used perfectly to color this film. We mostly understand Kit, because he says whatever he thinks, but the inner thoughts of quiet Holly are able to shape the film with the voiceover.
It’s simple dialogue and touching narrative make this one of Malick’s best films.
