The Wolf of Wall Street ★★★★★

Painfully funny, endlessly quotable, and just plain incendiary in execution, The Wolf of Wall Street is a straight-up classic and one of Martin Scorsese's very best films due to its profane and gleefully deranged indictment of the American Dream that doesn't contain any in your face moralizing and instead offers the audience to draw their own conclusions on where they draw the line. Special mention has to be made for DiCaprio's powerhouse performance at the center of the film for it's simply one for the ages and a new benchmark in Scorsese's rogue gallery of flawed and ambiguous protagonists. The allure of wealth and power is always strong but at what cost are we willing to take on our own souls to attain it?
