As comprehensive a list as I can make of superhero movies (at least the English language movies), from the earliest to most recent. The list includes theatrical, TV, and straight-to-video releases, animated features, shorts, superhero themed spinoffs of non-superhero series, proto-superheroes such as Zorro, the Lone Ranger and the Scarlet Pimpernel, and documentaries about superheroes, publishers, or comic creators primarily associated with superheroes, or behind-the-scenes documentaries about superhero movies and television shows. It does NOT include fanfilms or foreign knock-offs, although some of those may have slipped through the cracks onto the list.
My goal is to eventually watch all of them, so if you see one I've missed, please, let me know!

Since there seems to be a little debate in the comments (and actually, I love that) as to what actually constitutes a superhero, I thought I would be a little clearer here. It's a little hard to define -- in fact, the best and most honest description is "I know it when I see it". A superhero does NOT need to have super powers or a secret identity, but those ARE elements frequently attributed to them. So what gives?
For the sake of discussion, the characters on my list must meet AT LEAST TWO of these criteria, although some characters that meet only two still won't technically qualify. It's my list, darn it.
Qualities of a superhero:
1. Superhuman powers or abilities (either natural or granted by advanced technology or supernatural forces)
2. A double identity (although said identity may or may not be secret)
3. An identifiable (and toyetic) uniform or appearance
4. Fights the forces of evil
