The Last Dragon has a really weird structure. It makes the main protagonist a supporting character for almost half of the movie.
At the same time it’s a suprisingly progressive film full of diversity and breaking stereotypes of People of Color. At seems a huge theme in the film is masculinity vs toxic masculinity. It’s fully with blaxploitation films where all the white characters are bad (except for Faith Prince’s Character Angie).
It’s a weird movie, but I love it.
Also... Laura Charles (Vanity) spends the entire film biting her lip and trying to sleep with Leroy, it’s pretty funny.
