Jay Taylor-Jones’s review published on Letterboxd:
The horror genre was what started my deep-rooted obsession of cinema. Although it's a genre that has now been overshadowed by surrealism, drama and grounded fantasy, it's one that I delight in returning to.
Films like Possessor keep me coming back to the genre, not only because you can do endless things with it, but because I want to make high-concept horrors, just like this one.
It's fresh, it's exciting and it's unlike anything I've ever seen before. There are some superb moments that will stick with me forever, some that I will hopefully be citing as inspiration for something that I make.
I see so many people saying that Brandon lived up to his Cronenberg name. In my opinion, though I haven't seen much David Cronenberg at all, Brandon surpasses his dad on so many levels with this film alone.
