No lie, this still totally bops. Visually it's (obviously) an absolute work of art, but there's also a great amount of tension and kinetic energy in several of the scenes, from Aurora pricking her finger, to all the amazing action in the 3rd act. Maleficent is expectedly iconic and awesome. Thematically it's nothing complex but the whole thing definitely embodies "one often meets his destiny on the road he takes to avoid it."
