    First rewatch since cannes

Sitting there at the local AMC, Nicole Kidman welcoming me to the theater house before the end credits of a new Gaspar film began, felt so baffling, yet fulfilling.

This split screen, douer, 145 minute movie about the decay of the body and the mind over the years, showing on the final moments of life before it fades away, with the brutal Noe extremism coming from the blunt fact that if we keep living, eventually we…

It’s so cool Nelly got to learn about her mother through the lens of childhood and know that all adults, despite growing out of most childhood tendencies was a child at one point, learning what she liked to do, how she acted, how creatively she played, what she had to struggle with, which she might not remember all but clearly now, but having the luxury of knowing that she’s still there and made it, and was helping shape who she…

Cannes Film #10 (World Primere, Gaspar Noé, Dario Argento, Asia Argento, and Tilda Swinton attending)

I’ve never been more terrorfyed going into a movie then I did last night. Both surprising subdued in its provocation and craziness, and…

Cannes Film #4 (World Primere with Apichatpong Weerasethakul and Tilda Swinton in attendance):

If you've seen a Apichatpong Weerasethakul film, this is almost a cliché of one, and one of his most abstract, and possibly his most inaccessible films, which makes it sooo good that this is getting put out by Neon with a film star, so it’s gonna be his most successful*.

I love cinema, got to scream at Tilda Swinton which alone made my day. Have no idea what to think, but love the vibes.
