Frantic ★★★½

Taught and suspenseful Hitchcockian thriller has Han Solo looking for Carrie's gym teacher after she goes missing in France. Ford's performance as a frustrated guy who is desperate and out of his element carries most of the story ... he gives the film a solid foundation and a few bits of humor in just the right places. The film is nicely shot, deliberate, atmospheric, neo-noirish ... though a tiny bit disjointed in spots (one gets the feeling it may have been edited a bit to get the running time down). Overall I think Polanski has made a fairly satisfying film, it's just not up to the level of some of his earlier work.
