Bob McCully’s review published on Letterboxd:
This is definitely Adam Sandler's best comedy.
That proto-Tim & Eric absurdity rides high in this one. It's obnoxious and it's weird but it feels like it's bursting with creativity not hampered by any expectations, reality, or decency.
Sure, it probably sucks if you never saw this one as a little kid and just see a bumbling 29 year old talk like a moron for 90 minutes, but if you're like me and taped it off TV so you could watch it 10 times that summer then you can look past all the gibberish dialogue to all the legit wild ideas filling up the storyline till it explodes on an overdose of deranged whimsy.
