don't tell declan but i kept imagining kanye west watching this and going EXACTLY. EXACTLY. EXACTLY which gave me the strength to move forward when something was not making me go "ouaahaghgh!!!" at my screen
i keep seeing people say "oh man what a risk for villeneuve to do this" and i do get that, there is a real language and pace here that i think is really and truly worth something, but all i kept thinking was that was so clearly under the the model that absolutely everything has been for [insert how long Netflix model has been successful i'm in the tub and dont want to google things you know what i'm talkin about] where you spend 8 episodes/1 movie kind of standing around and then when you get the franchise greenlight that is when you really fucking stunt. you can set your watch to it.
at the same time i think this did it well enough & i don't know how you make dune a distributed movie franchise to ANY distribution platform without having to do this so fair play. i liked it and am excited to have a new thing watch more of with my brother, can't be too torn up about that. need everyone to put some more batista in their backs next time
