Boonmee’s review published on Letterboxd:
Technically, this should count as my first viewing, because the only other version I'd seen was the theatrical one. It's been a few years and I remember liking it, but being generally underwhelmed. Watching the restored Final Cut for the first time tonight on the big screen was a completely different experience. I still don't quite know how to comprehensively talk about this film, but my goodness, what a trip! The inspired lighting, the marvelously detailed world-building, the nuanced storytelling...It's really quite something. Ridley Scott perfects the neo-noir style and masterfully controls the film's mysterious, somber tone. Deckard's relationship with Rachael is still the one thing that doesn't entirely work for me, but it is a single hiccup in an otherwise fabulous film.
