Sorry to Bother You ★★★½

Syistically and thematically brilliant, but the plot didn’t really go anywhere that I didn’t expect it to. Not that there’s anything wrong with a traditional “refusal of the call yadayada” story arc, but anyone who has watched enough movies knows exactly where this is going to go, which makes the surrealism just window dressing. If the surrealism has punctured the story a bit deeper to provide some ambiguity, there would be something to chew on, but we would lose the directness of the message.
