Jojo Rabbit

Jojo Rabbit

Useless neo-liberal self-fellation, there's no denying that, but I dunno, I guess I still kinda liked it? A film with even just a fraction of the charm and wit of ''Hunt for the Wilderpeople'' (literally a masterpiece and the best children's film of the century, don't fugging @ me) is still nothing to scoff at, and in this day and age I could never take such a lusciously well made comedy for granted. Even on the level of its mostly asinine, occasionally straight-up toxic politics, there isn't NOTHING here. The film certainly has nothing of depth or value to say about fascism or nazism, but in general I think stories like this about deprogramming people of hateful and dangerous ideologies are absolutely vital, even when pitched at as simplistic a level as this is.

And ScarJo(Jo) is the easy MVP here, fight me...
