This list is a really interesting one, commissioned at the Venice Film Festival 2008, edited by Il Messaggero's film critic Fabio Ferzetti and with contributions by a host of writers, that set out to list the "100 films that have changed the collective memory of the country between 1942 and 1978". Thought I would put it on Letterboxd for reference.
