    Wonder Wheel

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Visually, Wonder Wheel is one of Allen's best-looking films. The opening shot is a stunning image of Coney Island. Some critics didn't like the dramatic lighting, but I enjoyed strong light reflecting the mood of the characters. Hands Over the City

Outstanding black and white cinematography and Rod Steiger, while dubbed in Italian, is well cast as the scheming developer. Hands Over the City plays out almost like a documentary or a collection of newsreel footage than a conventional drama. The center never holds and the true voices of the people, like De Vita, are marginalized and made out to be extremists. The film is set in 1960s Rome but accurately depicts the 21st century robber barons of U.S. "free market" capitalism.
