    American Factory

This is film reveals the complicated nature of the modern factory worker in many very interesting facets. It also beautifully contrasts the difference between America and China in very interesting ways. Some of the scenes in China are truly incredible. The results of this film are at times very frustrating, but are a harsh reality of our globalized economy.

So many times during this film I kept thinking to myself, “How the heck did they get this footage?!” It’s a perfect marriage of a wonderful character and some really difficult conflict they are going through. The film is really about greed and how we treat limited resources. I’m so glad I watched this, it’s really, really good.

I left this film feeling great, like JJ really stuck the landing. Not perfect, but I thought overall they wrapped up the trilogy in a wise way. I was absolutely not expecting folks to be so lukewarm on the film and I mostly think the criticism is overblown. I love the way they developed Rey’s character, which I think is the most important part of the trilogy.

I heard someone call this film “overstuffed with goodness” and I think that’s a good way to put it. I really enjoyed the ride.

My wife has been trying to get me to watch this film for years. I didn’t realize there were going to be bearded dragons in the film, that made the film a must watch. Super fun “they don’t make films like this anymore” kind of film.
