    This and Raiders are the pinnacle of adventure films but this might just be an inch above due to the charming Sean Connery...only Spielberg can make films like these, they're a rarity nowadays.

    On rewatch I understand it better so that's a plus but I'm not as fascinated with it as I once was, it's still a great piece of abstract art and poetry, the cinematography and atmosphere, and the acting are all at their best but like Lars Von Trier, Charlie Kaufman sometimes dips his feet into the slightly too pretentious pool, like yes there are some brilliant concepts here but you're overdoing the execution of it...still a hypnotising film though and one that I oddly would love to come back to several times in the future.
