Infinity Pool 2023
It’s kinda like that one episode of Star Trek TNG where Picard takes shore leave but still somehow LESS horny than that

Infinity Pool 2023
What a wild fever dream. Skarsgard the Younger does a great job tapping into that primal rage we saw in The Northman, and Mia Goth has that unhinged A24 psycho quality to her character yet again. I really liked the different feeling that each section of the film had, as I had no way of anticipating the next series of events or even how they would feel. Based on this film, I’d say that Brandon Cronenberg has a very distinct…

Radical 2023
Cried the whole time! These are the kinds of stories that need to be told! Loved everything from the humor to the acting and editing and the music. Every scene was compelling and beautiful and moving. Highly recommend this one to everyone, this is what storytelling is all about
Was very lucky to see this at Sundance and see a Q&A with the director and producer. When asked what we can do to help these kids, Josh Davis responded that…

Going Varsity In Mariachi 2023
I may have co-directed this movie but letterboxd bylaws clearly state that I must log all films watched (and also heart it lol).

All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt 2023
Extremely tender and caring in a way I did not expect. It’s structure is one of the most interesting things about it—pushing away regular ideas of narrative for something more segmented yet still intimate. I think I’m gonna return to this later because I’m not sure if it all really sank in and made sense but I’d easily call this a highlight. Wow

All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt 2023
Feels like nothing else at Sundance. Conveys its themes through repeated sounds (water, cicadas) and images (so many hands). We are all connected. The way of water.

All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt 2023
All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt is unlike anything else I’ve seen at Sundance. A non-linear, lyrical look at love, loss, and life itself, conveyed through Raven Jackson’s delicately dreamy direction and Jomo Fray’s consuming cinematography. Hushed, but full of heart in every frame.

All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt 2023
Sundance 2023: #18
Pure poetry in sound, image, texture. Sinks you into its essence early on and enraptures you through its grounding in the beautiful mundane. Waves of emotions across a lifetime.

All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt 2023
Sundance #1
All Dirt Toads Taste of Salt is stunning in absolutely ever way. Though, saying that this film will not be for everyone is an understatement. The editing is experimental, the pace is painstakingly slow, and the narrative is incoherently confusing.
An attempt to follow a cohesive narrative and characters will likely only result in frustration and confusion. But, that’s not the point. All Dirt Roads Taste of Salt is a film about place. Raven Jackson paints a poetic,…
