As sad as it is, these children were born into harsh poverty and soon after became products of their environment with very little to no parental guidance. It's especially devastating when children like Pedro and Eyes in the film, want to be good but are pushed to thier limits by thier peers until they eventually snap and give in. This early Buñuel film is an important look into the problem of poverty and how it affects children who know nothing else.
One of the most profound and challenging films ever created. With "Persona", Bergman explores what it means to be human and the instincutal insecurities that come along with that question. Bergman also delves into the dark thoughts of depression and motherhood taking many of his themes to a surreal level. "Persona" has established itself as a timeless piece of art being an inspirational film for many other directors to follow him. This is perfect cinema that begs it's viewers to watch it over and over and over.
