BRÁT’s review published on Letterboxd:
hypnotically rhythmic, like the slap of an oar against the salty sea or the cavernous echo of a bear’s death-knell roar. Robert Eggers takes a tale older than Hamlet and forges it in hot blood and magma, then soaks it in cold sweat and mud — i thought The Lighthouse was filthy (in more ways than one 😏) but he really dials up the dirt! my friend Grace tweeted it made her want to smash a rock open with her tits, and it made me want to do the same (plus re-play Skyrim for the 4th time 😔)
ohhhh also i talked to Anya Taylor-Joy about her character’s mind-breaking cunning and our mutual love of Interview with the Vampire for Letterboxd’s Weekend Watchlist podcast! full interview in readable form here 🌋
