brat pitt’s review published on Letterboxd:
highlights from the commentary with david fincher, edward norton, helena bonham carter, and 💘brad pitt💘
-brad: "god, helena walks a fine line. she is tasty. her role actually read a little more redundant than mine and edward's. a little more monotone. and she didn't get the credit she deserved here. little delicate twists and turns that really filled the thing in. she's phenomenal."
ed: "helena's got such big cheekbones"
-ed (about the scene where tyler's riding the bike in the house): "there was a great shot where brad rode past me and i flicked my flashlight up and we had a great shot of brad's naked ass riding away."
brad: "i gotta say, it was too much."
fincher: "it derailed it. it was too much sensuality."
-helena (about the CGI sex scene): "those aren't my breasts, i hasten to add. i wish they were."
-brad: "that's fincher's version of a sex scene. he kept saying, 'i wanna fly around her breasts and under her arms and through these beads of sweat frozen like Luke Skywalker or something.' i was like, 'sure, finch. whatever you want, man.'"
-brad (about the bathing scene): "it was this scene that earned us the gay support while everyone else trashed us... this scene was verification for gays 'cause it was saying we didn't need women. "
-ed (RUBBER GLOVE SCENE): "gee, you look nice and bronzed there."
brad: "all for you, big boy."
-ed: "how could you look at that assortment of people and call it pro-fascist?"
fincher: "i never understood the pro-fascist thing."
ed: "i mean, it's so obviously about what goes wrong when a bunch of frat boys start taking themselves too seriously. when a bunch of undergraduate fraternity guys who have read a little too much nietzsche start shaving their heads the same and wearing the same uniform."
happy pride month to all and to all a good fight! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
