Men 2022
From my review on Vulture:
“Harper’s refuge soon devolves into repeated violences, all perpetrated by men, all played by Kinnear. She is stalked by a naked man who tries to break into the estate, a crime disregarded by the inept policeman charged with investigating. An adolescent boy demands she play hide-and-seek, then calls her a “stupid bitch” when she rebuffs him. We also learn more about her final moments with James; in flashbacks, a picture of a relationship defined by abuse…

Men 2022
"Garland poses provocative questions about the ramifications of emotional abuse and manipulation, rattling the audience with bone-chilling suspense and unholy abominations. But, he doesn’t manage to shake out any coherent answers, which is a detriment only because “Men” seems to be trying so hard to say something. However, that missed opportunity could be seen as a chance for the audience to dive into the muck themselves and potentially fish out something profound. Whether or not you find anything, the impeccable craft and mesmerizing performances of “Men” make it a worthwhile journey nevertheless."

The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) 2017
Pagina Man is the film's smallest detail that has the largest impact on the tone and interpretation of the whole. what at first glance looks like an absurd joke ends up complicating things further when Danny and the rest of the family start praising it as great and beautiful film-making.
most viewers would have a hard time determining whether Hoffman's sculptures are good or bad by any standards of the art community—there are very few that have the trained eye…

The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) 2017
One of his funniest and to me feels very theater which I love because I’m literally addicted to The Stage and am actually a playwright (have you heard)
Such good acting and I do want Sandler to flirt with me! Hoffman’s dialogue is so tricky and good and he gets away with so much that sly fox
Obsessed with the Sandler whisper close up

The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) 2017
THIS MOVIE IS MY HOME❤️
I’ve never seen something that felt so overwhelmingly familiar and close to home. It’s made for New York Jews by New York Jews and it is PERFECT. It is so accurate and relatable and charming and earnest.
I loved the editing and the way that it would cut scenes in the middle of the sentences. And the way that the stories were separated by chapters and stitched together. This was completely brilliant and enjoyable and heartfelt. Couldn’t have loved it more. -

Annihilation is currently in my top 4 thanks to its gorgeous visuals and multiple interpretations of that mind-bending finale oh kay so everyone get off me with this rating.

Men 2022
Remember that time you had a creative writing assignment in high school or college and you couldn’t come up with an idea so you stay up all night just writing shit and throwing it at the wall and typing whatever comes into your head and you go into class the next morning with bags under your eyes and no sleep and a hard copy of what might be the most hodge-podge nonsensical string of words ever thrown onto a piece…
