it’s amazing to see all of Wes Anderson’s prior work converge into perfection as The Grand Budapest Hotel. He had achieved his refined style a few films before this, but only in Grand Budapest do we get an absolutely pure and engaging story, that stands out amongst the rest.
although my favorite film of his, and maybe my favorite of all time, is The Life Aquatic, The Grand Budapest Hotel has an aura that is unmatched. you are fully immersed into the world Wes creates. what always stood out for me was Wes’ ability to create films with substance, that you feel and even taste, WHILE also managing to stand alone with his signature style. one attribute does not over compensate for the other, like some famous film makers I will not name.
Instead we get a perfect blend of style, substance and flavor that provides us with THE perfect movie.
