Brendan Sheardy’s review published on Letterboxd:
This movie hit different for me. The day before I saw this movie, my girlfriend and I broke up. Though I didn’t take the break-up very hard, this is one of the most accurate depictions of a broken and unhealthy relationship. Ari Aster’s genius is on display as he tells a break-up story through a disturbing cult horror flick that unsettles you at every turn. I loved every second from the opening shot to the closing shot. The final close up on Dani haunts me to my core. This is one of the best horror films ever made, and Aster is already one of my favorite directors.
