The extreme violence saves this otherwise routine Segal action flick. You can tell Segal helped helped write the script because other characters are always talking about what a great guy he is.
A beautiful and terrifying work of art. Malcom McDowell is brilliant at being both menacing and vulnerable. The film has an incredibly dark sense of humor that is sometimes laugh out loud funny. And, of course, the direction is meticulous and perfect. And the score is great too.
