Brian J.’s review published on Letterboxd:
Violent, evocative imagery highlights a thin narrative riding on an interesting concept that’s not fully explored. I love the practical effects, and the tone is acutely sinister, disturbing, and cacophonous. It gets more uncomfortable as it goes along, and while Andrea Riseborough and Jennifer Jason Leigh give compelling performances, it’s not enough to sustain a feature length film.
Like Antiviral, Possessor would’ve worked better as a short. Starts to feel stale about halfway through, so they lay on shocking content to make up for it. I feel like I would've loved this 20 years ago. But ultimately there isn't much that's memorable. Watched via Well Go USA 4K UHD Blu-ray, uncut version.
