Brian Formo’s review published on Letterboxd:
I just completed a lengthy interview with Jodie Foster, going throughout her filmography and whew, feels great! (Can't wait to share it!)
I love that she strongly advices against directing yourself in a movie and I forget that she was just 26(!!) when she started on her directorial debut.
This is the movie that sent me down an enjoyable wormhole with friends about whether it’s ok or not to tell another friend that they look like Dianne Wiest. A wonderful thing! Intelligent, warm, empathetic and pretty but not, y’know, Catherine Deneuve (and Hollywood really cast as her suburban mom only too early). 2 women said “yes, great compliment” and 1 man said “nothing to gain from saying.” I think you know where I land, tho.
