When I was a little kid, my family had the 1989 Batman movie and Batman Forever on VHS - I was too dumb to notice that Michael Keaton and Val Kilmer were different people. I never saw Batman Returns or Batman and Robin until I got older. I have a weird attachment to this one, I don't think it's that bad.
Val Kilmer was decent at best, but Jim Carrey really makes this movie for me. His portrayal of The Riddler was so wacky and off the wall, I loved the set design for his apartment as well. I'm so excited for the new Batman film, because Paul Dano is playing The Riddler - that MF was creepy as shit in "Prisoners", I can see him doing a good job.
I also didn't mind Chris O'Donnell as Robin, though his suit was better in "Batman Forever" (only because it sort of resembled Nightwing's suit, and I'm a huge fan of that character).
