My top ten films of 2016

The top two films on this list very much stood above the rest. Spotlight was a clear and easy favorite for me, although I am admittedly in its wheelhouse as a former journalist who was raised Catholic. O.J.: Made in America was a well done documentary that provided new insight (for me) on an event that dominated a year(s) in my childhood.

After that, the order is nearly random. I have reordered it many times and don't necessarily feel that Zootopia was dramatically better than anything else on the rest of the list. Even numbers 11-15 are about equal as well.

It was a good year for cinema (and I have yet to see some of the years most critically acclaimed movies).
