I disagree with the critics once again. The newest MCU film from “Academy Award winner” Chloé Zhao comes Eternals. A film that 10 year old me never thought would happen. A fairly obscure space themed marvel team, that sounded like such a low possibility of something that would ever realistically happen. 8 years later though, here it is, the big budget blockbuster adaptation of these characters, does it deliver? Despite what critics may have you believe, yes, it definitely does.
All the technicals are outstanding, the visual effects, the cinematography, the editing, etc. The acting is also really strong and I like all of the characters, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjilani (as always), Salma Hayek, Don Lee, Bryan Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Lia McHugh, Kit Harrington, and Harish Patel are all really great here in their respective roles. Druig and Thena are the only charactere I didn’t really care for. Barry Keoghan and Angelina Jolie do fine in the roles, I just don’t think the characters added much to the film. But as a whole I really enjoyed seeing these new characters and I like how we get to know them as the film goes on instead of being exposition dumped at the beginning. If I had to rank all the main Eternals right now, I’d say-
1. Kingo
2. Makkari
3. Phastos
4. Sersi
5. Sprite
6. Ajak
7. Gilgamesh
8. Ikaris
9. Druig
10. Thena
Really cool theater experience for a really cool movie, don’t listen to the critics, if you have the time, watch Eternals and form your own opinion. Also of course, stay until the very end of the credits, very cool guy at the end.
Watch Eternals then join the Kingo fan club, we’ve got jackets ✌️
