    ★★★½

Saw this last night, and I haven't finished to untangle the mess yet, so my opinion is quite blurry and not final.

I can say this though, I loved the sound design, most of the visual style, and the overall weird drea-ish/nightmareish feel.
Though there clearly are interesting levels of understanding and biblical interpretation, I found the sybolic to sometimes be overshadowing the movie experience. What I mean is sometims what happened on screen was so weird and screaming "this…

Film #1 of August 2017 Scavenger Hunt
Task #1: Watch a film set in my home state of Kansas.

Despite the fact that I spent way too much time trying to wrap my mind around what was going on with Joseph Gordon-Levitt's face, before understanding that he was in heavy makeup (to make his facial features look more like Bruce Willis'), I enjoyed this movie very much. Oh Lord.. How am I even supposed to write 5 sentences about this ? Well, it's bad, I don't care at all for this ridiculous plot. I didn't give it a worse rating because I save room for movies with very offensive content, or really bad acting, but still... I forced myself through this one.. And none of the songs manage to make it better.
This disrespects the original movie so much it hurts.

Film #2 of AABATTERY's Scavenger Hunt Mini #4
    Task 2/16 : a New Zealand film

This was my first movie from New Zealand, I'd heard a lot about it and was not diappointed. I loved the mockumentary format, it's not something that you see a lot in a feature film. The ironic and absurd houmour had me laughing more that once.
It's quite simple actually, but it's well done and it's refreshing. I think I'll have to show it to some friends to get their thoughts on it.
