Screened in the actual Filmhouse cinema on the big screen along with the other New Visions short films selected & nominated at the Edinburgh Film Festival this year - and what a strange & joyous experience. Watching what we made in January over in Leith projected for real was surreal.

Hope to do it again soon :)

    - Me, to my friends, when they’re confused why I’ve watched this film nine times.

An absolute symphony. It honestly gets better and better every time I watch it. Even (or especially?!) on my phone on long London train & bus rides - because I’ve just this week moved to London!!

Both a marvelous big-city-movie sensory overload, and a deeply comforting reminder of how mesmerizing and exciting true creativity and winking craftwork can be. I love this movie.

Finally completed. Within the amount of weeks it took me to find time to finish all 3 Parts, I began rehearsing a play, finished rehearsing that play, put on that play, had a wonderful time watching the premiere and performances of that play, celebrated the completion of the play with the wonderful cast and lovely audiences, threw a big great party themed around Casino which went off brilliantly, and did various other cool fun things.…

    Cannes ‘21 #2
So I had a wonderful time out on La Croisette tonight and at the Ceremonie d’Ouverture (my first!! Heartwarming and cool!). Afterwards, I was close to and in conversation with some absolute cinema luminaries and made some delightfully friendly new French friends. But as for the film…

The film can fuck right off. There is one shot of a coyote that’s great, and one of a salamander that’s fairly neat, and other than that nearly every choice…
