Favorite Films of 2021

A long, productive, enjoyable, multifaceted year. I wrote and directed Evening Plans (nominated at the Edinburgh Short Film Festival), The Arbitrator (a comedy which I'm quite proud of), Fear of Roses (high-selling Fringe play seen by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Sam Mendes), and Press (which received five-star reviews, sold out, was also watched by Sam Mendes, and will be coming to London shortly), as well as assistant directing a film and a musical, attending Cannes and meeting some incredible film legends and new friends there, and writing scripts like Blood Red Apples and Deep Gold Honey, which I just R&D'd at the Almeida Theatre.

A good year. Soundtracked by some very good music (hence: "The Best Songs of 2021" on Spotify). And now for the films that colored it:
