Brian Sweeney’s review published on Letterboxd:
This movie will smolder (I’m sorry) in my brain for a long time. Burning has sort of a slow start, but this is essential as it builds to the eventual mystery that may or may not be what it appears. How much of what we experience from Lee Jong-su’s perspective is real, how much of is it his desire to satisfy his “great hunger” and give his life meaning?
One of the absolute best films of the year, and may be the best. May try to catch it again while it’s playing near me.
