Monsieur Hulot's Holiday 1953
Simply magical. Monsieur Hulot's Holiday seems to unlock memories I didn't even know I had; memories of places I've visited that seem so otherworldly in their beauty but are right here on earth. I wouldn't describe this film as laugh-out-loud funny, but I found myself constantly smiling at nothing in particular while watching this. Just a beautiful and enchanting film.

Titane 2021
I think I might really be at a loss for words here. Titane is an astounding, horrifying, beautiful, gut-wrenching, stomach-churning, heartfelt, funny, disgusting, repulsive work of fucking art. I almost cried twice: the first time was out of overwhelming joy and second was out of sheer terror. A brilliant tale of unconditional love and body horror. Just absolutely unbelievable.
