This second part of the trilogy is very different compared to blue and rouge, in a good way. Even though I loved blue and rouge, blanc is much less of a love letter to famous french actresses like Binoche, and has a raw, polish, ex-communistic feeling to it which works very well, especially in the context of the plot of the movie. This is a masterpiece. Emilie Kroyer Koppen and Lene Maria Christensen’s acting skills are so convincing that you forget you’re watching actors. It is well written in a way that nothing comes expectedly, which makes everything hit you extra hard. You will feel tears of sadness as well as tears of joy while watching this movie.

Also nothing happens that doesn’t have to do with the main story line; zero side tracks. And once the dutch family starts to become “weird”, the acting becomes so unnatural. Fedja van Huet’s acting is over the top. But its also just bad writing and directing that causes this. Karina Smulders’ acting is good but she gets like three…
