Bruno’s review published on Letterboxd:
Mulholland Drive is truly one of the most challenging, mind-bending and clever films I’ve seen! It completely baffled me at times and some of the characters seemed disjointed to me at first. However, we realize later they are all quite meaningful and ingeniously connected. Surrealism has always been one of David Lynch’s signatures and he embraces that style to a full extent as a way to propel the story here. The dreamy atmosphere is constantly meshed with reality and once we decipher from which perspective the story is being told, we are astounded by the inventiveness of the film. Naomi Watts and Laura Harring gave excellent performances, showing a great deal of duality in their characters. They were really crucial to make the whole experience engaging until the end. Mulholland Drive works effectively as a gripping mystery and always intrigues the viewer with its enticing story. This is definitely a groundbreaking film and an unforgettable experience!
