Bruno’s review published on Letterboxd:
Paprika is one of the most inventive and original animated films I've seen in a while, being also visually stunning. This is my first film from director Satoshi Kon and right from the opening sequence, I was instantly intrigued and fascinated by its fantastical concept, which involves a device that allows people to record and analyze their dreams. Paprika contains a lot of unpredictable moments and the story keeps getting more twisted and suspenseful from that starting point. Also, the characters are strongly developed since the director shows concern in exploring their motivations and internal conflicts throughout the film. Finally, I was constantly in awe with the animation here, which was just so exuberant and creative, making my head spin several times. Highly recommendable!
