Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

    ★★★

This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

Hate to say it, but the more I think about this film... the less I begin to like it. I really genuinely believe that Illuminati scene soured my feelings towards the film.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is a lot to process, especially on the initial viewing. While it was far from the perfect ride that some fans have called it, I can’t deny it was entertaining from start-to-finish. Jackass Forever was so glorious. While it may not add anything new, it was so great seeing these guys on screen again performing wickedly dangerous stunts and having the time of their lives. The Northman is another masterpiece from Robert Eggers. Visceral, brutal, epic medieval revenge tale that never overstayed its welcome. The performances are fantastic, with Alexander Skarsgård commanding the screen through his physically and emotionally gripping portrayal of Amleth. On a technical level, this is as close to perfect as you’d imagine. Flawless in every department. I’m unsure what goes on in Eggers’ head, but he continues to outdo himself film after film.
