I Care a Lot 2020
something was very off here for me. i love rosamund pike, especially when she's playing a manipulative lesbian disaster (her second go at the role since gone girl ;)) but the rest of this film was boring, and may have bitten off more than it could chew.

Friday the 13th 1980
this is so boring. it doesn't help that the only trait of this group of teenagers is their undying whiteness. they are literally the WHITEST people in the history of horror films, and i'm not talking pale. i get that this is a cult classic but i seriously think you can skip it. these two stars are for kevin bacon and kevin bacon's 80's hair. goodnight.

Eli 2019
yeah, this definitely lost some luster on the second watch through. my little brother didn't like it at all. i can't deny that while the ending is still super cool and eli is a badass, the entire story was very obviously disjointed and nonsensical upon reviewing. darn. this movie really needed some james wan writing and directing...

C.O.G. 2013
i watched about an hour of this which means i was over halfway through the entire story and i still felt like absolutely nothing had happened and there was no ending in sight. they were smart to cast jonathan groff in this, though, he was the only thing that made me hang in for as long as i did! 😌👏🏻

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile 2019
i've seen so many good reviews of this lately that i'm gonna rewatch this tonight and see if i can change my rating: updates to come 😌
y'know... they tried. they tried really, really hard! but i can't say they succeeded 😔✊🏻 this is gonna stay 2 stars for now. -

The Kindergarten Teacher 2018
i know many like this film, and found the subject to be very interesting. i wish i felt that way, but to me this film felt pretentious, overreaching, and without a point. it tries to seem deep, but falls flat when a teacher's seemingly good intentions have a very selfish and overbearing undertone. the performances in this film are great, and i can see where this film wanted to go—it just didn't quite get there for me.
