Stavros Halkias: Fat Rascal 2023
Some laughs, but didn’t grab me as much as his last special. The bit about the barber mirror was good, however.

John Leguizamo's Latin History for Morons 2018
There’s a lot of good stuff in here, and at times it’s incredibly moving, but the use of racial stereotyping, homophobic caricature and some outright racism is very unpleasant and detracts from the good work he’s doing.

A Serious Man 2009
Clouds aren’t shaped like animals and there is no face in your porridge. Signs are just coincidences that we try and attribute meaning to.
A Serious Man is about a patch of bad luck and the meaning we try and pull from the wreckage of a life.
It’ll never be talked about in the same way as Fargo or the Big Lebowski, but in many ways this is a real masterpiece. It’s a small film, beautifully shaped and realised, full of petty human moments.
