It's not enough to make something topical, it has to be good. Strangelove falls short in that regard. There were strange highs (Alex's friend Dell), and strange lows (weird pacing and story structure).
Good intentions aside, I just wasn't feeling it. To get this kind of fix, we'd all be better served watching Love, Simon again. (For the record,Love, Simon is just a really good romcom, regardless of any specific content, but you know what I mean...)
