Todd Malkin’s review published on Letterboxd:
Okay, so that was radical.
Once it was over, I felt like I wanted more "soul" -- more "gravitas" -- but then, I realized that the fun, loose nature of the whole affair was a huge strength. Even with some of the frivolously sentimental bits, Spider-Verse was just a rollicking good time.
Oddly enough, I enjoyed the scenes without the action the most. I sometimes found the fight scenes to be too much. (I know, I know.)
I'm looking forward to rewatching this. I'm already tempted to bump my rating up, but we'll see. I have feeling all the scenes will just get better and better when I toss this on in the future. And, I do expect to be tossing this on quite a bit in the future...
