Overall, this "reboot" is more to my taste than the ones prior. I love Sam Raimi, but those were a little too glossy and cartoonish for me -- the Amazing Spider-Man captured the Spidey from the comics a lot better. One thing I really liked was all the wise-cracks (which was always the thing that endeared me to Spider-Man). I also thought the fight sequences were well done. It's nice to be able to see what's going on and to be thrilled by it. Oh, and it has the best Stan Lee cameo yet. My biggest complaint is that intellectually it's a good superhero film; but, on a gut level, I never got those butterflies that inspire me to go to the theater. Final verdict: almost amazing.
