    Out of all the essays I’ve seen of The Unloved, this one is my favorite and will likely remain so even after watching them all. I’ve got parts of it memorized, it’s very meaningful to me. Tafoya’s mini-montage of clips from Hooper’s films set to Proposition by Josefus has melted into my brain.     When I’m watching a movie, I want some kind of emotional experience. The main reason I go to horror movies is the main reason I rode the Hulk rollercoaster at Universal Studios three times in a row: I want to feel alive. And in comes Funny Games, Haneke’s self-proclaimed “self-reflexive anti-horror film”.
