    Marriage Story

As a huge Sondheim fan and cinephile, I’m blessed that this exists

  • Knives Out

    Knives Out

Loved it! Really interesting ensemble of characters woven into a twisty not-your-typical-murder-mystery story. Props to the incredible cast and Mr. Rian Johnson!

  • The Irishman

    The Irishman

I dunno about this one, I feel like I’m in a love-hate relationship with this film. I like a lot of stuff in it, but I also feel kinda betrayed. Cuz after the entire 3h 29min runtime I personally didn’t feel it paid off for what it was setting up... :/

  • Ford v Ferrari

    Ford v Ferrari

    Best line from this film:
“$200 Dollars a day, are ya nuts?”

I’m having a great movie-week so far and still have to see The Irishman and Knives Out this weekend! :)

  • The Farewell

    The Farewell

Sadly didn’t grab me as I would’ve hoped...

But I did get ramen right after so that’s a win

  • Parasite

    Perfection. Incredible piece of cinema.

  • Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

    Maleficent: Mistress of Evil

I love attention to detail, but these costumes and sets hurt my eyeballs

And the plot hurts my brain...

  • Frozen II

    Frozen II

Six years after the release of Frozen, Walt Disney Animation Studios seems to be very aware that the audience (which of course consists of mostly little girls) has grown with them.

I think that’s why they decided to make the sequel a more mature film with heavier subject matter. And it leads to some pretty dark stuff, even for Disney.

I saw it in IMAX and I’m such a sucker for good animation and this movie is stunning visually. You…

  • Doctor Sleep

    Doctor Sleep

The scenes in the Overlook Hotel were just... wow...

As soon as the credits started rolling and “Midnight with the Stars and You” played, I smiled like crazy.

  • The Shining

    The Shining

    “Wendy, I’m home.”

    Holy shit.

This is the definition of an iconic masterpiece. I love everything about it but the score stood out to me the most. It’s bone-chilling.

Kubrick’s unique style of directing, Nicholson’s terrifying leading performance and Alcott’s outstanding cinematography are truly what make this an incredible piece of cinema.

Seeing Doctor Sleep tomorrow. Can’t wait.

  • Dumbo

Was not planning on rewatching this, but it’s on Disney+ in my country (I live in the Netherlands where it’s already out) and I realized I liked it a lot more this time than my first viewing.

I think this might be my favorite live-action Disney remake of the year after all, even though we are still getting Lady and the Tramp next week...

  • Zombieland

I usually loathe zombie-flicks, but credits to the creatives and the great cast of this one, it’s awesome. Hope the sequel is good too...
