This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

This is a review of the whole trilogy, not just Return of the King.

Wow, what a trilogy. These have been three of my favourite films since I first watched them nearly a decade ago. This is going to be a long review so I’ll try and give it some kind of structure. Oh, and I watched the extended editions of each movie so those will be the versions I’m reviewing here.

Firstly, here’s my thoughts on each film individually.

Hot off the heels of his worst film to date, Christopher Nolan came back in 2014 with Interstellar, arguably his greatest film yet, and certainly my favourite. I love sci-fi movies, especially ones that deal with space travel, and this is one of the best ever, in my opinion.

Nolan’s movies are often criticised for their lack of heart, a criticism which I tend to agree with, and Interstellar is a clear response to this. It’s by far his most…

    ★★★

Some incredibly dumb moments and Cate Blanchett’s Russian accent aside, this movie is decent. It’s not as bad as most people make it out to be, but it’s not great either. For the most part, the film just lacks the charm and sense of adventure that made the previous 3 so great. But hey, Harrison Ford is good here, barring a couple of very out of character scenes, and Shia LaBeouf is actually alright as Mutt. The CGI and green screen really fucking sucks here, though. 6/10

Also, Lego Indiana Jones 2 rules and the haters can go fuck themselves

Luke has a bigger emotional reaction when the weird hermit monk guy he’s known for a week dies, than he did at finding the corpses of the two people who raised him for 19 years
