Sully ★★

Considering its altruistic portrayal of Sully, and its one-sided take on the material, the film comes off as being borderline propaganda. The “Hoo-rah! for America” execution shoots down any meaningful discussion about the incident itself, and is as morally black-and-white as a Saturday morning cartoon. It MAY have something to say about the mental effects 9/11 has had on the American psyche, as well as hint at a deeper motivation for why Sully did what he did, but its done so heavy-handedly and with such limp-dick momentum that it comes off as a lifeless procedural that accidentally stumbled across something profound.
