Will be in contention for "Best Popular Most Asians in a Movie set in Singapore" come Oscar time.
No less vapid and clichéd as those rom-coms by and featuring white people. So, it's good...? We can be crazy mediocre too, y'all.
The end of Dil Se... plays like a twisted version of the grand finale of Blow Out where John Travolta rushes through the Liberty Parade trying to save the innocent Nancy Allen from the murderous John Lithgow; except here, our obsessive, deranged "hero" Shah Rukh Khan is on an impossible task of saving a person who embodies both Allen AND Lithgow. Doomed to fail. Apocalypse Now. If I can't have you, then no one can. Chaiyya Chaiyya no longer.
Holy Mother of God.
